Maintenance & Improvements

Making alterations

You must get our permission before making any alterations to your home. Please download the alterations application pack or contact us for more details. We may visit you to discuss what you’re planning to do before giving our approval. You may also be entitled to compensation if you improve your home, then later end your tenancy.

Planned works and Improvements

We’re committed to maintaining our homes and estates to a high standard.
We run planned maintenance programmes for both tenants and owners, and we repair or replace key property components both inside our properties, and in common areas for example.

In fully tenanted, mixed tenure and factored blocks we carry out:

• Close painting
• Maintaining gardens and backcourts
• Gutter cleaning and roof inspections
• Stair lighting maintenance
• Maintaining and upgrading door-entry systems.
• General repairs to the building fabric

We also carry out planned improvements to our tenants’ homes, including:

• Replacing doors and windows
• Replacing boilers
• Upgrading and installing energy efficient heating systems
• Installing new kitchens
• Installing new bathrooms
• Electrical upgrades

Aids and Adaptations

Every year we are allocated a small amount of grant funding from the Government, which allows us to carry out adaptations in customers homes, to help people who require assistance live independent lives. We carry out a range of works from walk-in showers and wet rooms for customers who have difficulty in using a bath, to simpler aids such as handrails and access ramps.

If you are having difficulty managing in your home please contact the Occupational Therapy Service on 0141 276 3112, or write to them at 35 Church street, Glasgow, G11 5JT.

They will arrange a home visit to assess your needs, and will refer your application to us for inclusion in our programmes.
