Partick Action on Litter

Partick Action on Litter

Partick Housing Association (PHA) and Partick Works (PWL) receive numerous complaints from frustrated tenants and local residents regarding environmental incivilities.

The main issues of concern are littering, dog fouling, bulk waste/fly tipping in the streets and in backcourts, and a decrease in public services.

Partick Action on Litter (PAL) (previously The Partick and Thornwood Action Group) was established with support from PHA in summer 2015 in response to the local environmental issues – with the aim of empowering the community in taking care of our shared environment. The group includes residents of private lets, PHA tenants, owner occupiers, and local Councillors.

PAL organise regular litter picks supported by PHA, Clean Glasgow, and Glasgow City Council Land and Environmental Services. The group’s litter picks
target areas that are known problematic “hot spots”.

PAL have a busy calendar. Some activities are highlighted below – please get in touch with the group if you are interested in getting involved.

  • From April to October evening litter picks will normally be held on the first Monday of the month 5.30pm – 7.30pm.
