Mansfield Gate at the former St Peter’s Primary School

This news article provides you with an update on progress at our Mansfield Gate development. On the site of the former St. Peter’s school in Partick, the project will deliver 60 new flats to PHA’s portfolio of affordable housing, consisting of 21 Mid Market Rent (MMR) flats, 31 for social rent and 8 supported accommodation units.

As per our last update, the project has unfortunately been affected by a number of challenges and faced delays. Our initial contractor went into administration and, like other construction projects, work has progressed slowly due to necessary COVID-19 working restrictions.

Our main contractor, Hadden Group, are working through planned packages of work with efficiency as restrictions are eased. The latest programme is for the phased completion of works and occupation of the properties throughout autumn and winter 2021. The MMR flats on Chancellor Street will be completed first; then Dowanhill Street, starting with the supported accommodation block; and finally in sequence onto White Street.

This programme is subject to review as we respond to changing restrictions. The safety of our staff, consultants and the wider community remains our priority and we appreciate everyone’s patience during these uncertain times. In due course we look forward to welcoming new tenants to these new affordable homes within the heart of Partick.
