Thank you so much to everyone who helped out or just popped along to the Bigger Partick Picnic on Saturday 27 June.
It was a brilliant day despite the intermittent rain. The Bigger Partick Picnic is about bringing a community together and we received such great feedback from locals! Visitors enjoyed a fantastic programme of live entertainment, including music from local artists, a steel band, choir, DJs and more. Alongside the main stage, community stalls and local organisations were also on hand throughout the day, offering opportunities to get creative, learn more about services in the area and connect with others. We even had a visit from Finnie the Unicorn, proud mascot of the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
A key feature of this year’s event was a new employability programme, delivered through a partnership between PHA and EveryStage. The programme provided local young people with event management training and the opportunity to interview for a paid placement at the Bigger Partick Picnic and beyond, helping them gain valuable skills and experience within the events industry.
Special thanks to the event management team from Every Stage and our co-hosts, Partick Community Council and all the staff from Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026. Also to our amazing funders Glasgow City Council, The Department of Work and Pensions and Partick Housing Association.
Here’s to doing it all again next year… with guaranteed sunshine this time!
