Scottish Housing Day 2024

email3

The theme for this year’s Scottish Housing Day is Homes for Life. Age Scotland’s recent survey found that 37% of respondents didn’t think their home would be suitable in the next 10 years. 20% said they needed an adaptation to their home and over half of these had waited more than 4 months.

As people grow older, their housing needs can change. This might require some simple adaptations to make homes more accessible, or support to move to a more suitable home that’s closer to family or local amenities, or easier to manage. For very simple adaptations PHA’s Maintenance department might be able to help. We created this simple step-by-step guide to help our customers request an adaptation survey for their home from Glasgow City Council’s Scoial Care Connect department. For mobility aides or major adaptations you would need to contact Social Care Direct. For very simple adaptations PHA’s Maintenance Team might be able to help. If you wish to enquire about this, or would like to know more about applying for a transfer contact us via 0141 357 3773 or email info@partickha.org.uk

We know that many people don’t think about their housing needs or plan for the future, and that it may not always be easy to find the right information and advice about housing. That’s why we created the above guides. We want to encourage people to think about housing for older people as we promote a nationwide discussion on housing needs and how we can plan for the future – as individuals, communities, and housing organisations.
