Partick Housing Association works closely with a number of local community projects and organisations. Recently we supported several of these organisations with the delivery of free Emergency First Aid Training from St Andrew’s First Aid.
We had a full house, with fourteen attendees with representatives from Partick Community Growing Project, Sandy Road Community Garden, Centurion Way Growers, Partick Action on Litter, Thornwood Tidy Up Club and Annexe Communities to name a few!
The Emergency First Aid course is designed for those who wish to have some knowledge of first aid that will enable them to assist if someone is injured or becomes ill suddenly – with guidance on how to look after a casualty while waiting for an ambulance.
Mark Hughes, Community Projects Officer said, “All those who attended the course work or volunteer with local organisations and regularly engage with the wider community through their activities. We hope that they’ll never need to use their new skills but are pleased to be able to support the community in this way”.
One attendee said; “Thank you to Partick Housing Association for the provision of the Emergency First Aid course held at your premises. We sincerely appreciated the invitation to attend and participate in the course, learning both skills and the confidence to perform Emergency First Aid if required”.
