Gas Upgrade Works at Hyndland Street

Partick Housing Association has received notification that essential gas upgrade works will be commencing on Hyndland Street on Wednesday 27 February 2019.

We have received the below information from SGN.

SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. They also provide the gas emergency service in these areas.

SGN will shortly be re-starting their £130,000 project to upgrade the gas network in Hyndland Street, Glasgow. This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

Following discussions with Glasgow City Council, the project will start on Wednesday 27 February and last approximately five weeks.

Phase 1 – approximately 3 weeks

From Wednesday 27 February, SGN will be working in Dumbarton Road at its junction with Hyndland Street. During this time, a road closure will be required on Hyndland Street with local diversions in place. However, local access will be maintained to Hyndland Street from Chancellor Street.

To ensure everyone’s safety, SGN will install temporary three-way traffic lights on Dumbarton Road at its junction with Keith Street.

Phase 2 – approximately 2 weeks

From Wednesday 20 March, SGN will be working outside number 86 Hyndland Street. There will be no traffic management in place for this phase.

SGN will be posting regular updates at https://roadworks.org/?107846190 and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.
