Building Opportunity

We recently teamed up with City Building to offer a Taster Session for their Apprenticeship 2018 programme. The session took place on Monday 16 April 2018 and gave candidates the chance to learn more about what is involved in undertaking an Apprenticeship.

Aimed at those aged between 16 and 19, the Apprenticeships are an opportunity to develop skills in practical trades including joinery, painting and decorating, gas and electrical. Candidates were able to try out some of these skills at the Taster Session.

More information about City Building’s Apprenticeships is available on their website here. Anyone interested in applying for an Apprenticeship should note the deadlines explained here.

Viki McCormick, PHA’s Community Development Officer, said “We were really pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for local young people. We hope that the Taster Session has given candidates an impression of what is involved in undertaking an Apprenticeship. Our aim was to help candidates decide if this is  really for them and offer a bit of experience to support their applications should they wish to proceed.

All of the young people who attended seemed to enjoy the day and were keen to choose their preferred trades. A big thank you to our contractor City Building for working with PHA to deliver this opportunity.”
